ABOUT US - FARMING PRACTICES
Organic:
This designation is available only to those producers who are certified with an approved certification body. The farm or producer must also indicate their certification number.
Those producers who are in transition to organic status will indicate as such and provide their number. Certified Organic farms are inspected by a third party.
Non-Organic, or Conventional:
The consumer may ascertain growing practices by asking the producer directly.
Non-certified Organic: following organic standards.
This claim may be made by the producer, with no accredited third party inspection (as in the case of the Certified Organic claim). The consumer may ascertain specific growing practices by asking the producer directly.
Biodynamic:
This designation is displayed by producers who are certified Biodynamic and provide a certification number.
Using biodynamic practices:
This claim is made by the producer. The consumer may ask the producer directly about their practices
Community Garden:
The product is grown in local community garden operation.
Fair Trade: The producer possesses a fair trade certificate.
